This weeks Monday Challenge is a ‘Trio of Something’. What’s cuter than a Trio of monsters, right? Also, I need an Anniversary card for my husband, and these little guys will be just the thing. No mushy sentiments here.
The second picture is of the little guy waiting to wish my husband Happy Anniversary on the inside of the card.
Started by copic coloring the monsters from the My Favorite Things ‘Monster Sized’ stamp set. Cut them out with my Scan ‘n Cut. Created the frame using Lawn Fawn’s ‘Peakaboo Background’ dies set. Of course, I used Distress Oxide Ink to color the background. And the LOVE was created with Hero Arts ‘Luggage Tag Alphabet’ Dies.
Today’s challenge is Add a Sentiment. Perfect! I had just finished using new stamps and dies that I received in the mail today and thought… I wonder what the challenge is for today. Serendipity!
The Hooray stamp and die set from Neat & Tangled was perfect. Also used the new Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and the Toucan came from SSS’s new Encouraging Animals set. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the toucan. The Hooray was stamped with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and did some white embossing for the it’s your day sentiment.
Monday’s challenge is a Nautical themed challenge. I used the all sorts of stuff to make this card. The Wave die from Avery Elle was used to create the great background. It was mounted on blue card stock. I masked off the bottom and added some Salty Ocean Distress Ink on the bottom to break up all card into different zones.
The images came from Hero Arts and Impress cards + crafts. A little copic coloring and it was finished.
This second card is what I made with the die cut from the last card. Love when you get two cards for the price of one. =) I did a little more ink blending for the die cut YOU.
I’m not sure which one I like more.
This card is doing double duty. I signed up to take the Rainbow Online Card Class and my card will also work for the Monday Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Challenge.
I used only 3 distress ink colors and then did some blending to get my rainbow they are Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, and Salty Ocean. I laid down the pink and blue colors on each end on Bristol Smooth watercolor paper and then blend the lovely yellow color in the middle to create the orange and green shades of my rainbow. Just like I was shown in the online card class. Easy peasy!
I then die cut the happy birthday and pieced all the little bits back onto some black card stock and cut the YOU die cut (from My Favorite Things) and that was it.
I’m learning a TON in the online class. If you have a chance, I would highly recommend that you take it. So much fun!! Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner are such a great team. You won’t be sorry.
